Inmates in LAPD jails can call and video conference using the services of Telmate, LLC. The city will collect $0.24 per minute of call time for the Inmate Welfare Fund and 25% of teleconferencing revenue. Telmate to be compensated through fees to inmates per minute and per transaction. Current call rates are $0.65 per minute and will drop to $0.41 per minute. Video conferencing will be $0.05 per minute (CF-17-0778).
